This town has been known since the late 1800’s as a prime gold mining town due to its vast majority of gold deposits around the city. Not only is gold from this treasured town, but many other precious stones are found here as well! Our AGC piece features a stunning turquoise straight from the North Star Mine of Cripple Creek, it is the only direct turquoise mine open and still functioning in Colorado! The turquoise is a shimmering array of different colored blues, golds, browns and whites. It is a wide round-cut stone and weighs 8.11-carats, it is truly one of a kind. Turquoise was originally found by the Ancient Egyptians and was used to invoke luck, prosperity and peace to the wearer! The eye of the bejeweled hurricane is held together with a geometric bezel of 14k yellow gold.
